Two Years Of Happiness

Two years ago today...

I was going out to get a massage with my mom and sister.

I was going to lunch with my bridesmaids.

I was getting my hair and makeup done.

I was writing a letter to my husband to be...

... and reading his letter to me.

I was getting ready to walk down the aisle...

...toward my best friend.

And have some amazing women stand next to me as I said my I do's.

And celebrate the beginning of the rest of my life with the man I love with my family and friends.

Things Are Looking Up For The Garrison Family!

Happy Monday y'all!

I have great news!

While Chris still hasn't been able to find a job, a little over a week ago I got called in for a job interview at Massage Envy, and I got it!
They pretty much hired me on the spot pending my background check and massage practical!

A little background...

I went to massage school in Charleston without an idea that I'd ever live anywhere else.
So when I took my licensing board exam, I took the test to get a license to practice massage in South Carolina.
But when I got married, I moved to Rock Hill which is right on the South Carolina/North Carolina border.
And when I moved here, all the massage positions were in North Carolina.
A lot of good that does a girl with a South Carolina license!

About a month ago I was having lunch with my family, and we noticed that there was a Massage Envy that had just opened up which is a huge franchise so I immediately applied.

And I got the job!

Words cannot express how big this is for my family.
We needed this job to come along.

I've worked four days so far and love it!

I was so busy!
I ended up doing 21 massages!
My body was exhausted at the end of it, but it was so worth it.
Massage therapists get paid great money to begin with, plus if you work in a spa, people tip.
Oh man do people tip.

And if this keeps up, Chris and I should have a better bottom line than when he had his old job.

I guess when you pray, God doesn't always give you what you ask for.
Sometimes He has something better in mind.
Although we're still praying that Chris also finds a good job soon :)

Things are looking up for the Garrison family.

Coffee Date with You

If we were really meeting for coffee today...

... it would have to be iced.  Something about 100 degree, South Carolina weather doesn't make me want a hot cup of coffee!

... it probably wouldn't be in a Mason jar since we'd be at a coffee shop, but it would be cool if it was being the Southern girl that I am.

... I'd probably tell you how much I needed the caffeine since I started back to school yesterday, and my sleep schedule hasn't adjusted yet.

... Then I'd say how ready I am for the Fall semester to start so I can get back to Biology and Chemistry.
One more semester down is one step closer to me graduating.
And once I do that, maybe I can get a good job and move back to Charleston.

... I'd tell you how Chris' job search is still not going well, and its starting to really stress me out.
We don't really get to do much these days because, well, everything costs money, and we don't have it right now.

... But I'd tell you that I've been keeping busy working on Fall and Christmas items to put in my shop.
And working on this house.
If I can help it I will never live in another house that needs a lot of work again.
I just don't have it in me to have to replace everything because it's so outdated.

What would you tell me if we were meeting for coffee today?

I'm linking this post up to Coffee Date with Rags to Stitches and Virtual Coffee with Lucky Number13.

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!
