Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge Day 9

I missed out on posting this yesterday, so I'm posting it a little late :)

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Day Nine
Favorite Football Pastimes

Football has always been about rivalry, even before I got married.
My mom, my sister, and I are big Clemson fans.
While my dad is a South Carolina fan.

Now that I'm married, my husband is also a South Carolina fan.
I think my dad really enjoys having someone on his side now to talk about it with :)

When Clemson and South Carolina have played each other in the past, my family and I have gone to eat at Wild Wings to watch the game.
Last year though we grilled steaks and watched the game at my parent's house.
This year my husband and I usually grill steaks every Saturday when our teams play.
I don't know why, we just do :)

I have been to a couple of Clemson games at Death Valley before.
My uncle had season passes to the games and a tailgating spot, and I really enjoyed the tailgating!
I wish I lived close enough to Clemson because if I did I would definitely enjoy tailgating on Saturdays!

One big part of my football watching includes dressing up all my furbabes!
What else is new, right?!

Here is a picture of Chris and me wearing our rivalry t-shirts with my parent's dog all decked out!

I don't have t-shirts for Youri or D'Artagnan so for last week's game, I tied a purple ribbon around their necks to get them in the spirit!

Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday y'all!

Here's what I'm thankful for today.

I'm not going to lie to you.
Lately I've been having a hard time.
As many of you remember from this post, I have a problem with depression and anxiety.
And since making a tough decision to go off my medicine for health reasons,
it has recently gotten worse.

Lately I've been feeling like I'm drowning.
And I look up,
and everyone is staring down at me watching me sink.
And life keeps on throwing buckets of water on top.
And it seems like I'll never get out.

It's hard for me to think about what I'm thankful for when my life gets in ruts like this.
I've had to remember lately
that it doesn't matter if I'm thankful for 50 awesome things going on in my life right now
or just thankful for the basic things that I'm blessed to have.
As long as I'm thankful.

So today,
I'm thankful for the gift of today.
It's a simple as that.

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge Day 8

Happy Wednesday y'all!

I'm so glad the week is halfway done!

Today I'm continuing with the Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge!

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Day Eight
Fall Travel/Road Trips

I've never really done any serious Fall travel.
Ever since I started kindergarden I've been in school during the Fall.
Which means I haven't really had the time for Fall trips.

This year though I hope to take a little mini trip one weekend up to NC.
Since I live on the border between SC and NC this isn't what I'd call a road trip :)
But I really want to go pick apples and see the pretty leaves in the mountains!

Fall Recipes

There are so many Fall recipes that I could share, but I've really had these on my mind lately!
I think these are kind of unique!
I'd never heard of them before until last year.
Maybe I'm just behind :)

Apple Nachos
from Taste of Home Magazine
October and November 2010 Edition

36 caramels
1 Tbsp. water
30 large marshmallows
1/3 cup butter, cubed
4 medium tart apples, peeled and cut into 1/4-in. slices
1/3 cup chopped dry roasted peanuts
1/3 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3 Tbsp. Halloween sprinkles

Directions:

1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt caramels with water; stir until smooth.
2. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt marshmallows and butter, Arrange apple slices on a large platter. Drizzle with caramel; top with marshmallow mixture.

Super easy and great for this time of year since apples are coming into season!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Here's what I'm loving today!

I'm loving that my week of testing and assignments due is finally over! Since last Wednesday I have had 5 tests, 1 quiz, 1 paper due, and numerous homework assignments. I need a break!

I'm loving that the first day of Fall is in two days!

I'm loving the Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge that I've been linking up to for the past couple of days! It makes me that much more excited for my favorite season to get here :)

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

I'm loving that I'm shipping out an Etsy order today!

I'm loving that I'm going to be selling my items in my very first craft show next weekend! I'm excited but a little nervous too :)

I'm loving that my mom is going to get to come up to help me at the craft show! That takes a lot of stress off of me.

I'm loving that SCarowinds is about to open for Halloween! Our local amusement park Carowinds turns into SCarowinds (scar-o-winds get it??) for the Halloween season where they run all the rides in the dark and have haunted houses set up around the park.  They have it all decked out in Halloween decorations and all. It's not really scary. It's more corny than anything, but it's fun to do around Halloween :)
