Miscellany Monday

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone's weekend was amazing and left you feeling refreshed for the week ahead.

Mine was amazing, but not so much on the refreshed part ;) This is more how I'm feeling today.

At any rate, it's time for Miscellany Monday with Carissa at lowercase letters!

{friday confessional retraction}

Thank you so much for all the commets wishing me well on my PT test this weekend! HOWEVER, thanks to the threat of a government shutdown, I got a call at about 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon telling me that battle assembly had been cancelled until further notice.  This was after I had already driven the almost 3 hour trip to Charleston. Thanks Uncle Sam! That means no battle assembly, no PT test. So Saturday I drove 3 hours back home to Rock Hill instead. Such is life in the Army!

{technology + me = frienemies}

Computers and I just don't get along. My husband and I have been having some major problems with our laptop. Something is wrong with the charging port so we can't get it to charge very often. Therefore it is dead most of the time these days. A bloggers worst nightmare! Seriously though, it is bad because I really need it for school!

{strawberries on steroids}

On Saturday before I left Charleston, my mom and I went into town to the farmer's market. For all you non-southern people that's where local farmers come together and sell their produce. It's great because you can get freshly grown produce that wasn't picked before it was ripe in order for it to still be good when it gets to the grocery store. Anyway, while I was there I picked up a basket of strawberries. And These.Things.Are.HUGE! Whatever type of plant food they're using, I want to know!

{let there be light}

Saturday night we went and had dinner with my husband's parents. While we were there the weather started looking pretty bad. When we got home, we found out that the power was out. It was pretty dark because it was around 8:00 p.m. so the sun had gone down on top of al lthe dark clouds. It wouldn't have been so bad except that my husband had to leave for work so I was all alone in a dark house with it thundering, lightning, pouring down rain, and hailing outside! Needless to say I lit about 15 candles in the room I was in. I just might hate the dark a little bit :)

Go write random and link up to share at lowercase letters!

I hope everyone has a great Monday!

  1. The dog in the seat is SO cute and funny! I feel that way too! lol! And those are some massive strawberries! I have been having strawberries every week! I make a topping for them that I can't do without!

    Get a box of sugar free pudding and mix in just a little milk (I use about half a cup-3/4 cup skim milk) so that it's a thick pudding (my favorite to use is banana cream)

    then mix in a tub of Lite Coolwhip so you have a yummy dip/topping but low on calories! I also sprinkle a little sugar on my strawberries after they are rinsed and cut.

  3. Oh that strawberry looks awesome!!! I'm sorry you didn't get to do your PT test, but you did good getting ready for it.

    I don't like being in the dark either, especially if I am alone. And I don't like thunderstorms...
